A KOONDOOLA therapist’s innovative approach to helping people with autism was recognised at the WA Disability Support Award recently.

Holly Bridges received the excellence in innovation award at the awards hosted by National Disability Services WA and the Department of Communities on April 28.

The award recognised the positive results she has achieved through the innovative use of the polyvagal technique, which looks at how the ‘flight or fight response’ exacerbates anxiety in people with autism.

She has also received international recognition for her book Reframe Your Thinking Around Autism outlining the technique.
