Labor claims victory for Anne Aly in seat of Cowan

LABOR has claimed victory in the tightly contested seat of Cowan.

After more than a week, Anne Aly has a nearly 800 vote margin over Liberal MHR Luke Simpkins.

WA Labor posted its congratulations to Dr Aly on Twitter this afternoon despite a spokesman for Luke Simpkins saying they were not conceding and would monitor the results over the coming days.

There are more than 10,000 ballot papers still to be counted.
