Land sales to help fund performing arts centre

At a council meeting last Tuesday, councillors endorsed the proposed sale of 103 Caridean Street in Heathridge and 77 Gibson Avenue in Padbury by public tender.

A report will go back to the council with the results of the public tender before a decision is made.

The City is also looking to buy 12 Blackwattle Parade in Padbury from the Department of Lands for $88,000 subject to public consultation.

Councillors requested the chief executive get clarification from the ministers of Planning and Lands regarding the conditions placed on the City if it was to sell the land.

It was noted the preference would be to use the money to install traffic lights at the junction of Walter Padbury Boulevard and Hepburn Avenue in Padbury.
