LONGTIME Landsdale resident Joe Tropiano is excited to finally have neighbours on his 4ha property, despite getting set to welcome more than 80 of them.

He and brothers-in-law Leo, Angelo and Robert Vinci are developing the site at the corner of Rangeview Road and Kingsway, which will offer 80 homes ranging in size from 226sq m to 397sq m.

Mr Tropiano and his wife Anne have lived at their Rangeview home for 25 years while his father-in-law Leo Vinci lives opposite, after buying his property more than 40 years ago.

“It’s a family affair,” he said.

“We’ve lived here for 25 years; our kids have grown up here.”

Mr and Mrs Tropiano will remain in their home at the corner of the site after completion of the development, known as Crest.

“We’re more excited to actually have neighbours,” he said.

“When we first moved out here it was a very rough bitumen road, all market gardens around.

“It’s all slowly been developed.”

They have spent the last several years preparing for development though their plans are long-held.

“It’s been a dream of ours,” Mr Tropiano said.

“It’s something we’re going to enjoy.”

The area is set to remain a family affair, with the Tropiano’s two children buying homes within the development, along with some of their cousins.

“It’s going to be one big happy family,” he said.

“I think everyone has been wanting this development to go ahead for quite a while.

“The location is absolutely fantastic and once you’ve lived here you’ll understand how close you are to everything.

“It’s still got that good feeling about it.”

There are also plans to build homes on Mr Vinci’s land opposite in the future.

The developers are holding an open day with free sausage sizzle and children’s activities on Saturday from 11am to 2pm at 19 Rangeview Road.
