DANCERS from a Landsdale school are fundraising to compete in a national event after winning a major state award.

A group of 13 teenagers from Danceforce were the senior troupe winners at the Dancelife Unite competition in April.

The same group won the award last year but were unable to take advantage of the chance to perform in the national competition.

Principal Michelle Manning said they were fundraising to ensure the girls could make it this time.

“I am just so proud of the girls and their choreographer Jodie Hackworthyfor all their hard work and their achievement,” she said.

“They have been together from such a young age.”

The school is planning a range of fundraising events to fund the dancers’ airfares and accommodation for the five-day event in September.
