NEIGHBOURS are bonding over barbecues in a series of free events in Landsdale.
The Landsdale Residents’ Association received $3000 from the City of Wanneroo as part of its 2016-17 community funding program to hold 10 street corner barbecues over the next few months.
They are being run in partnership with Kingsway Junior Football Club and Landsdale Wesleyan Methodist Church.

Association president councillor Domenic Zappa said about 30 people attended the first barbecue at Broadview Park last Sunday.
“It was great to see residents getting to know one another and talking about our wonderful community,” he said.
“Know Your Neighbour Barbecue is about turning strangers into neighbours and streets into neighbourhoods.
“It’s not about big events; it’s about Landsdale residents taking the time to make small and local acts to create friendly neighbourhoods.”
The association received another boost after council approved a $540 donation for the waiver of the bond for seven upcoming barbecues.
The recommendation had been to reject the donation because it did not meet the City’s policy but Cr Brett Treby moved an alternative motion at last night’s meeting for its approval.
Cr Zappa had declared his interest as president of the group.
The association is seeking “neighbourhood captains” to assist in running the barbecue and distributing flyers.
