Landsdale: skateboarder dies after holding on to moving car

A SKATEBOARDER died in hospital today after suffering head injuries when he fell while holding onto the back of a moving vehicle in Landsdale on Saturday.

Police Media spokeswoman Susan Usher said a maroon Toyota Camry was travelling south on Heathfield Drive when the driver noticed the victim, of Thornlie, had grabbed hold of the rear of the car.

“The driver saw the skateboarder fall and stopped the car,” she said.

“The 23 year old male skateboarder hit his head on the road and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital

with critical head injuries.”

The 25-year-old driver is helping police with inquiries.
