The free exhibition at the WA Maritime Museum is a collection of images taken by young people aged nine to 17 living in care in WA.

‘The exhibition provides a wonderful opportunity for the participants to express what is important to them and gives us a window into their lived experiences as they see it,’ Department for Child Protection and Family Support director general Emma White said.

Participants were given a camera and took part in a photography workshop.

‘The result is a moving collection of 128 black and white images that focus on the people and places important to them,’ Ms White said.

‘They are an open, honest and creative insight into their world.’
