State Labor MPs held the survey at the Wanneroo Show to get feedback on issues important to residents.

It found people wanted safer communities with more police on the streets, better street lighting and increased drug rehabilitation services.

Other priorities related to health, education and transport.

West Swan MLA Rita Saffioti said she and Girrawheen MLA Margaret Quirk and North Metropolitan MLCs Ken Travers and Martin Pritchard would use the survey results to help set their priorities for 2016.

“The response to our survey was overwhelming; people are clearly worried about the future of our state and the need to create more jobs in the future,” she said.

“The survey gives us a very clear direction on the issues people want us to address.”
