Madeley: Badminton WA lease renewed

THE Badminton Association of WA has had its lease renewed for use of a Madeley stadium.

Its current five-year agreement with the City of Wanneroo expires on December 31 and approval for another lease for the same term was granted at the November 7 council meeting.

The association has been based at Kingsway International Sports Stadium since 2000 and occupies a ground floor office and portion of an external shed.

An audit conducted by St John Ambulance last year found that the office was suitable for use as a first-aid room so the City has negotiated with the association to move to a vacant upstairs boardroom.

The rental cost is $1300 per year and will be enacted subject to consent by the Lands Minister.
