Village social coordinator Joy Francis said the day started with the field umpire explaining the rules and the team captains going over the strengths and weaknesses of the skills on the opposing sides.

She said there were many spectators to cheer on the competitors, with the winning team determined by the “accumulative scoring of points for successful through-the-goal-posts bowls”.

“The Dockers accepted defeat graciously, having been winners in 2017, leaving the Eagles to bask in the glory of being winners on the day,” Mrs Francis said.
