Madeley: PlaygroupWA hosts farm-themed family fun day

MORE than 3000 youngsters and their parents attended a farm-themed fun day in Madeley this month.

PlaygroupWA hosted the November 14 event at Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex where activities included a toddler mud maze, sensory play with grains and wool, sheep shearing toddler-style, cow milking, pony riding and animal farm.

Playgroup WA chief executive David Zarb said the annual fun day celebrated members who had been involved in local playgroups during the year.

“It is an opportunity to bring people together in a fun environment and allow families to talk to agencies that support families with young children,” he said.

“We also use the day to showcase simple and inexpensive play ideas that people can try at home to inspire an interest in play and its importance to children’s development.”

Mr Zarb said more than 3000 people attended the farm-themed event, enjoying warm weather and a relaxed atmosphere.

Other activities included a bouncy castle, face painting, mud kitchen and community stalls.
