A MAN allegedly stabbed his brother with a knife causing a punctured lung in a dispute in Madeley on Sunday.

Police last week charged the 27-year-old Clarkson man with grievous bodily harm and aggravated burglary.

Acting Senior Sergeant Stuart Fairley alleged the man forced his way into his 29-year-old brother’s Madeley home about 4am and attacked him on April 23.

“The accused allegedly attended his brother’s house yelling for him to come out and fight,” he said.

“The victim’s partner tried to calm him down, but the accused allegedly jumped the gate into the backyard.”

Investigators accused the man of striking the woman in the forehead when she tried to stop him entering the back door.

They charged him with assault over the accusation.

Police said the stabbing victim underwent surgery in Royal Perth Hospital.
