Senior Sergeant Brad Burnett said police charged the 26-year-old of no fixed address after finding an allegedly stolen Ford ute at a house in Hocking on January 27.
Sen Sgt Burnett alleged the man was in possession of stolen jewellery at the time.
Upon further investigation, the man was accused of assaulting a police officer in Ballajura on January 18.
Officers allege he was riding a stolen motor bike when they pursued him to a park near Summer Lakes Parade and Paradise Quays.
The man allegedly took a fighting stance in front of an officer and attacked him, before resisting arrest and escaping custody.
Police allege he was in possession of a modified nail gun and 0.22 calibre ammunition in a bag he dropped as he fled.
He was charged with at least 10 offences, including assaulting a public officer, possession of an unlicensed weapon, escaping custody and providing false details.
An 18-year-old Warnbro man was charged with the theft of the Ford ute as well as breach of bail and possession of cannabis.
