Man charged over alleged sexual chats

A MAN accused of having sexually explicit conversations with a young girl on social media will face court on Friday.

A 46-year-old Yanchep man was charged by the Western Australia Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team on December 30.

He is charged with three counts of intent to expose a person believed to be under 16 years to indecent matter.

The man is due to appear in court on January 10.

It will be alleged that between October and December 2019, the man used a social media platform to converse with a young girl, with some of the conversations being of a sexual nature.

The maximum penalty for this offence is five years’ imprisonment.
