Man charged over attempted armed robbery of Wanneroo service station

POLICE have charged a man over an attempted armed robbery on a Wanneroo service station.

The 32-year-old Gnangara resident allegedly threatened staff at the Wanneroo Road outlet with a knife on May 27, demanding they open the till.

Sergeant Tom Cogan said the alleged offender fled with no cash.

Police detained the suspect a day later.

He is due to face Joondalup Magistrates Court on June 8, charged with attempted armed robbery.
