A MAN has been fined $400 for kicking and damaging a bus driver’s cage door in Wanneroo.

At 3.55pm on October 10, Jake Black boarded a bus at the stop on the corner of Wanneroo and Dundebar roads with his partner.

“Then there was a verbal argument with the driver,” the police prosecutor told Joondalup Magistrate’s Court on Friday.

He said Black then “braced himself using both hands to grab the rails and kicked the cage several times”.

“He told police he was offended by a comment made by the driver,” the prosecutor said.

Appearing via video link from Casuarina, remanded on other matters, Black pleaded guilty to the charge of criminal damage or destruction of property saying it was “a mistake”.

Magistrate Gregory Benn fined him $400 plus court costs of $225.90.
