A 77-YEAR-old man nearly lost an arm after a medical episode caused him to roll his car into a Whitfords City carpark on Wednesday.

Sergeant Neil Stimpson said the man lost control of the vehicle about 9am and crashed into a carpark off Whitfords Avenue.

He said it was lucky it did not happen at a busier time of day.

‘When it’s a medical episode, there’s nothing you can do to avoid it,’ he said.

‘He side-swiped a couple of cars.’

Sgt Stimpson said it was thought the man would lose a severely injured arm, but doctors have since returned with good news.

‘They confirmed they can save it,’ he said.
