Staff ReporterWanneroo Times

Mr Simpson attended the November 12 council meeting after announcing final boundaries for metropolitan local government reform that morning, with Wanneroo one of the few unaffected councils. Speaking at the meeting, Mr Simpson said he had been in the job for eight months and had so far attended about 70 council meetings.

‘Been a big day in local government today and I’m happy to come to Wanneroo, it’s a bit of a relief (from the reform process),’ he said.

The local government reform announcement on Tuesday outlined boundary changes that will reduce the number of councils from 30 to 15.
