Mitchell gets all the dirt on career

As one of WA’s high achieving science students, Mitchell worked at the department’s Bunbury office on an industry placement scholarship.

‘I’ve always had an interest in biology and the sciences so I wanted to work in the labs and experience what people did in their jobs,’ he said.

‘I am looking at my options for the future but my week at Bunbury has certainly made me consider a career in the agricultural sciences, particularly genetic engineering.’

Mitchell was involved in a range of onsite and off-site projects including work in animal health laboratories and a Margaret River water use assessment.
