Ms Mitchell launched the group on World Diabetes Day last November with Health Minister Kim Hames in an attempt to raise greater awareness of the disease.
The group is made up of five State Parliament members from upper and lower houses who have experienced diabetes first hand.
‘As someone who has lived with type 1 diabetes for many years, I know how useful a group like this will be in advocating for people living with diabetes,’ Ms Mitchell said.
