MENTAL health foundation headspace and the City of Wanneroo have partnered to provide services for youth at Girrawheen’s Hainsworth Community Centre.

Headspace operations manager David Wray said staff recognised a need to expand headspace services in Girrawheen for young people and their families.

“The City’s youth service team run programs from Hainsworth Community Centre every weekday, so it was the perfect opportunity to better connect with youth at the heart of the community,” he said.

“Our headspace case co-ordinator, Fraser Brownlie, will be based in Girrawheen once a week and hopes to build relationships with young people using the centre’s facilities.”

Mr Brownlie will be at the centre every second Thursday from 9am to 5pm and on alternate Thursdays from noon to 5pm.

Headspace Osborne Park and the City’s youth services team will host a basketball clinic and 3-on-3 basketball competitions on Friday, October 16 as part of Mental Health Week activities.
