The fund, introduced by the then Labor Government earlier this year to improve wages for early childhood educators, is under review following a change of government in September.
Co-ordinator Therese Cordier said her centre had conditional approval for funding to improve staff wages and was awaiting paperwork when the government changed.
‘In late September, with a change of government, a review of the fund was announced to consider the establishment process and implementation,’ she said.
‘This may result in the government deciding to distribute funds in a different way.
‘Childcare educators perform one of the most important jobs a person could do.
‘The responsibilities and expectations of educators continue to increase, yet the wages are minimal.’
Mr Goodenough spent about 45 minutes listening to concerns, promising to look into the matter.
