“In the 19 years since I graduated, so much has changed but so much has stayed the same,” Ms Stojkovski said.

“There are new buildings and new learning courses but the spirit of celebrating achievement and supporting students’ dreams and goals are still there.”

She said Year 11 students “showed a keen interest in the challenges and barriers for women in Parliament”.

“I hope some of them also have aspirations to represent their communities in the future,” she said.

Ms Hamilton advised students to take every opportunity.

“I spoke to them about being the 30th woman elected to the 40th Parliament and the importance of equal representation in our Parliaments,” she said.
