SORRENTO mother-of-three Vesna Spasevski says she is still pinching herself after she was awarded a pro card at last month’s 2015 World Beauty Fitness and Fashion show on the Gold Coast.

The 41-year-old won the fitness diva model category for over-35s and came third in the fitness diva open short category where she said most competitors were “about half my age”.

“I was awarded a pro card, which is a highly sought after status that everybody strives for in this industry,” Mrs Spasevski said.

“I am no longer allowed to compete as an amateur; I can only compete against other pros.

“I feel absolutely amazing and am still pinching myself.”

Though she had three podium finishes in as many competitions last year, Mrs Spasevski said her 14-week preparation was “a little wiser than last time”.

“My training workouts weren’t as long as usual but were more intense,” she said.

“Diet is everything in these comps and I followed mine to a T – no cheat meals at all.”

Mrs Spasevski said her aim now was to “wind down a little, rest up and then get ready to take on the best” when she headed to Las Vegas in August to compete in the WBFF Worlds.

She said she was proud of her achievements so far and hoped to “inspire other people my age to have a go and chase their dreams”.
