Museum a treasure trove

The City of Wanneroo’s Treasure Discovered in Museum program has been popular with children and families, encouraging them to explore and navigate their way around the museum.

Afterwards, children can create their own telescope and try other historical-inspired crafts.

Wanneroo residents Elecia (12) and Chelsea (8) Shaw recently completed the activity and said they learnt a lot about Wanneroo’s early settlers.

“We found out about what they used to use and how they lived,” Elecia said.

“I liked doing that especially because it seems like a little museum but when you do it you learn lots of things and see it’s actually a big museum.”

Elecia said she would recommend the activity to other children.

“Before when I told friends about the museum they thought it’s not that fun, but now I can tell them there’s a treasure hunt and lots of cool things to do,” she said.

The program runs Monday to Saturdays until February 1.
