Navy warships dream career for Woodvale woman

The St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School graduate, who joined the navy in 2009, was recently posted to HMAS Stirling in Rockingham after completing her marine technician training.

‘My duties include maintaining the mechanical equipment on board ship and in particular the propulsion engines, even though they can be dirty, oily and smelly,’ she said.

‘One of my most memorable moments was sailing into Pearl Harbour and taking part in maritime exercises with over 40 different ships from 23 separate nations.’
