THE Wanneroo RSL Sub-branch has a new home in Wanneroo.

At the May 9 meeting, councillors endorsed a two-year lease to the sub-branch for office space at Enterprise House.

Wanneroo Business Association and The Hybrid 935 co-working community, which is a partnership between the association and City, currently use the building.

A report by the City said the sub-branch needed a secure room to undertake its funding program and organise its Anzac Day and Remembrance Day services.

As a not-for-profit lessee, it will not be charged rent and a maintenance fee, and the report noted an alternative facility would need to be found in the long term.

“The City is looking to transform the building into a business specific facility and therefore in the longer term, administration will look to relocate Wanneroo RSL to a more appropriate location when a suitable office becomes available,” it said.

Councillor Dot Newton said she was pleased with the decision.

“(It’s a) very short walk to the Wanneroo Sports and Social Club where they have their meetings…it’s great to have them back here,” she said.
