New venue for third age university goers

Meetings are at Rob Baddock Community Hall in Dampier Avenue, Kallaroo on the second and fourth Monday of the month, 11.30am to 3pm.

The group ” one of three in the northern suburbs ” provides life-long learning opportunities for over-50s not working fulltime.

Meetings include a guest speaker and socialising over a BYO lunch.

Offshoot study groups include mahjong, special interest, discussion, happy wanderers, digital photography, gardening and book clubs.

Founder member Norman Harrison said the group, part of the wider U3A (UWA), had grown steadily since forming about six years ago.

‘We offer a range of things for members,’ he said.

‘For instance, the happy wanderers usually travel by public transport to places of interest such as St Mary’s Cathedral.’ Call 9304 0942.
