NIGHT works and lane closures are planned at the Wanneroo Road-Ocean Reef Road intersection over the next three months so a diversion can be built.

Main Roads has announced a schedule of night works that will see both roads reduce to one lane in the area so it can build a temporary alignment.

The alignment will move traffic away from the intersection, with a temporary roundabout planned to the north east, to allow construction of the flyover.

Main Roads advised night works on Wanneroo Road would take place between 7pm and 5.30am over two nights this Wednesday, August 28 and Thursday, August 29.

The work will include removing street lights and installing temporary traffic barriers.

Further lane closures and night works are planned on Ocean Reef Road east of Wanneroo Road on Mondays to Fridays between 7pm and 5.30am from September to November.

Activities will include the installation of temporary traffic barriers in preparation for water main installation, and road construction including laying asphalt.

Visit mainroads.wa.gov.au for more information about the interchange project.

There are also ongoing night works at the Wanneroo Road-Joondalup Drive interchange site, which includes installation of concrete panels for the flyover.
