Mr Miller has been volunteering at RDA for almost five years, after he saw an article in the Times asking people to help with horses or general maintenance.

He said at the time he was not keen on handling horses but felt he could contribute his labour doing routine maintenance, which he does twice a week.

However, there have been times where he has led the horses, which has given him the chance to help the children who visit the Wanneroo centre.

Mr Miller said he finds volunteering extremely rewarding, also lending his time to the Wanneroo Sports and Social Club with his wife Anne.
