NORTHERN Blues N Roots WA hosts its next Live Blues night at the Wanneroo Tavern Function Centre this evening, June 7, with music starting at 7pm.

“We have a great line-up of blues artists for this month’s gig,” group co-founder Derek Cromb said.

“Each first Thursday of the month, we start with a solo or duo act, followed by the main band. Then we finish off with our House Band, On The Level, who often feature a special guest.”

Starting off the night on June 7 are blues stalwarts Pete Romano and Mark Constable, aka The Night Herons.

The main act is Big Town Players, a Chicago blues-style band, featuring the vocals and harmonica of frontman Howie Smallman.

On The Level will finish, with lead vocals by group co-founder Dave Gillam, lead guitar by Steve Garde and Bill Blissett on keyboards.

The special guest is Trevor Jalla, one of Perth’s foremost blues exponents on electric guitar.

Dinner table bookings are advised.

Phone the venue on 9405 2777. Door entry is $15. For further information, email cromb@tpg.com.au.
