Northern suburbs crime spree: three people charged over spate of incidents

THE violent robbery of two people in Mariginiup and the attempted theft of a dog from a car in Whiteman were among 18 incidents Joondalup detectives alleged were linked to the same trio in a two-month crime spree.

Officers charged two men and a woman with 42 offences between them in relation to the matters last week.

Police alleged the accused trio committed the offences from May to July in suburbs across Perth including Wanneroo, Pearsall, Mariginiup, Wangara and Gnangara.

Among the offences, two people were assaulted and a Toyota Hilux was stolen from a Mariginiup property on June 2.

One of the accused attempted to steal a dog from a car in Whiteman.

The trio is alleged to have stolen wallets and handbags from vehicles in Pearsall, Mariginiup, Ellenbrook and Bassendean before using cards in fraudulent purchases.

Quad bikes were allegedly stolen from properties in Wangara, Westminster, Wanneroo, Gnangara and Mariginiup.

The offences stretched as far south as North Fremantle, Bullcreek and Leeming where the offenders were accused of breaking into a number of businesses between 2am and 3am on July 1.

Police searched a Gnangara home on Friday, detaining the three people and seizing allegedly stolen vehicles.

Officers charged a 28-year-old Gnangara woman with 13 burglary and theft offences.

A 33-year-old Gnangara man was charged with 12 offences including aggravated armed robbery, burglary and theft.

A 23-year-old South Lake man was charged with 17 offences including breaching bail, burglary and vehicle theft.
