Northern suburbs in luck

Staff ReporterWanneroo Times

Kingsway City Lottery Centre in Madeley sold a ticket worth $1,013,557, drawn in the March 8 Saturday lotto draw, and Heights Lottery Centre and News sold its second division 1 ticket in two months, with the winning numbers drawn on March 1.

Brothers Doug and John Culmer have owned the Madeley kiosk for almost six months and were thrilled to have sold the big prize.

‘It was a lovely surprise and we have had lots of our customers checking their tickets to see if they might be holding the winner,’ Doug said.

‘I knew it wasn’t me, though, as the first thing I did was check my tickets from the draw.’

The $1,042,666 winning ticket from Heights Lottery Centre follows a winning $520,831 ticket sold at the outlet in January to a northern suburbs family.

The weekend winning ticket brings the tally of WA division 1 winners this year to 14.

Both ticket holders have come forward to claim their prize.
