Northern Suburbs Men’s Shed receives volunteer grant

THE Northern Suburbs Men’s Shed recently received almost $4800 through the Volunteer Grants Program.

Social Services Minister Paul Fletcher visited the Landsdale shed to give the group a $4797 grant from the latest round of funding.

The shed gives men opportunities to get together in a workshop environment, take part in community projects and improve their general wellbeing by getting involved – visit northshed.org.au for more information.

Wangara’s Fostering Hope, Joondalup and Districts Rugby League Club, Landsdale’s No Limits Perth, Girrawheen’s Organisation of African Community of WA, The Spiers Centre in Heathridge, Wanneroo and Communities Suicide Prevention Network, Wanneroo Community Men’s Shed and Marangaroo’s Italian Aged Care each received $5000.

The Salvation Army Merriwa and Two Rocks Yanchep Assisted Cancer Travels also received $5000 grants, while Northern Beaches Cycling Club received $4957 and Northern Suburbs Women’s Friendship Group got $4337.

Riding for the Disabled Association of WA Capricorn Group in Pinjar got $4110 and Butler Scout Group received $3500.

Wanneroo BMX Raceway Club and Wanneroo Flag Marshal Association each received $4800, while the Lions clubs of Duncraig and Wanneroo got $1500 and $2700 respectively.

Other recipients included Youth Futures WA in Joondalup ($3974), Greenwood Little Athletics Club ($2000), Girrawheen’s Achievers Club WA ($2100), Joondalup Athletics Centre ($2715), Marangaroo Family Centre ($1000) and Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club ($1600).
