Northern suburbs projects among winners in Master Builders construction awards

A COUNCIL building, shopping centre and sports clubrooms are among the winning northern suburbs projects in the 2018 Master Builders-Bankwest Excellence in Construction Awards.

BGC Construction won the best $20 million to $50 million retail building category for Butler Central Shopping Centre at the July 20 awards.

The centre was designed by architect Brown Falconer and engineer HERA Engineering.

Pindan Constructions won the best $10 million to $20 million office building for the Wanneroo Civic Centre’s $17.9 million extension.

Bollig Design Group was the architect and BPA Engineering was the engineer for the City of Wanneroo project, which featured a two-storey building with roof terrace and basement car park.

Pindan constructions director Mark Thompson said the building was designed to allow for future expansion, including up to three more floors.

Bistel Construction won the best $1.5 million to $5 million government building for clubrooms at the Yanchep playing fields, designed by Holton Connor Architects and engineered by Construction Hydraulic Design.
