And there to welcome and entertain guests was Ocean Reef’s Matthew Pashley-Roland and his fellow dancers.
Matthew has been dancing for 22 years, seven of those with Princess Cruises.
This is his second new vessel as he has also worked on Royal Princess, which the Duchess of Cambridge christened last year.
Regal Princess has a glass-floored walkway that extends more than 8.5m from the edge of the vessel and hangs about 40m above the sea.
The ship (pictured below), which can host 3560 guests, has a television studio with live talk shows and daily breakfast program Wake Show.
Its maiden voyage included stops in Corfu, Mykonos and an overnight call in Istanbul.
