“This course will give graduates the knowledge they need to springboard into the music industry and the confidence they need to excel,” Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said.

“From hands-on practical tuition to vocal techniques and a background on genre, this inclusive course is a great starting point for beginners.”

Mr Chowdhurie is an entertainment industry professional with more than 30 years’ experience, and previous course participants have gone on to work for AV companies, perform at dance festivals, produce music and start mobile karaoke businesses.

The course will start on March 12 at the Girrawheen Hub and is limited to 15 places.

There will be a graduation party in the final week, where friends and family are invited to see each student apply what they have learned and DJ for 10 to 15 minutes.
