Police reported on Monday that Lee Buzzard (32) had been fatally injured on a work site about 12.30am that morning.

His mother Sharon Westerman, who lives in Landsdale, told the media her son was her “best friend” who “took care of others all the time and always thought of others”.

Wanneroo South ward councillor Hugh Nguyen offered his condolences to the family via his Facebook page on Monday.

Members of the Landsdale Residents Association page followed suit.

One user said she panicked when she heard the news because it was someone local.

“I hope the family has plenty of support and if you want to reach out to a stranger I’m also happy to help,” she wrote.

Another poster, who said her husband was a FIFO mine worker, said it was bit too close to home.

“My heart is breaking for you and your family,” she wrote.

“If there is anything we can do to help support please let me know.”

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
