It was recognised in three of the four categories at the Local Government Road Safety Awards on February 12.
The City won awards for its Driver Reviver program offering a volunteer-run rest stop at peak holiday times and the school speed limits review, which resulted in 25 locations being referred to police for targeted enforcement, the installation of six children’s crossings and electronic school zone signage.
It also received a high commendation for the changes implemented on San Rosa Road in Wanneroo to reduce the average driving speed.
“To be recognised at these prestigious awards is an outstanding honour for the City of Wanneroo,” Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said.
“The City has been working tirelessly to make our roads safer for residents and it is wonderful to see our hard work paying off.”
