One arrested as party spills out of control in Woodvale

POLICE have made one arrest after an out-of-control party involving about 80 youths in Woodvale last night.

Police were called to the Duffy Terrace residence about 11pm after numerous noise complaints.

They arrived to find about 80 youths, a large number of them intoxicated.

The party organiser, a 41-year-old man, decided to close the party after bottles were smashed in the backyard.

A large number of the youths then gathered on the street outside the home and began fighting, creating a disturbance and yelling abuse at police

A 16-year-old boy was arrested for disorderly behaviour.

Police took 15 juveniles into care and handed them over to responsible adults.

The organiser allegedly charged a fee to enter the party, and police inquiries are continuing on whether he will face charges.
