The call for the review is included in a council report that also listed 13 recommendations for parking prohibitions on Paramount Drive and surrounding streets.

The council recently approved the recommendations to install ‘no stopping’, ‘no stopping on nature strip’, two-hour parking and ‘loading zone’ signs in the areas of Challenger Boulevard, Paramount and Motivation drives, Triumph Avenue and Achievement and Leadership ways.

The City received 24 responses in favour of the prohibitions, three that considered the proposal unnecessary and 14 with alternative suggestions.

The $6500 needed to install the signage is allocated in the 2013-14 budget.

‘It should be noted that the proposed parking prohibitions will add an additional work commitment for the City’s parking compliance officers and as a consequence, will only be able to be enforced on an infrequent basis,’ the report said.
