Butler’s Daniela Troaca (22) and Oana Simon (20), from Merriwa, share Romanian ancestry and are among the 70 women who qualified for Miss Universe WA this year.

Ms Simon said she was an executive assistant to Perth Glory owner Tony Sage and was also studying marketing and journalism at Curtin University.

She said she entered the program after hearing about its various benefits and the opportunity to meet like-minded girls.

‘Everyone is really friendly, a lot of great friendships are being formed out of this,’ she said.

‘We have had the opportunity to partake in health and nutrition classes ” they informed us of the best things for our body.

‘You want to be runway ready ” we have to be in a bikini walking on stage in a couple of weeks.’

Ms Troaca ” who is studying psychology and counselling at Edith Cowan University ” said she had never modelled or been on a catwalk before the registration day, but had a passion for fashion.

‘I love designing clothes, I’m working on my own label that I want to release later on,’ she said.
