Fr Norviewu-Mortty, with the Bishop of Yendi, Vincent Sowah Boi-Nai, and Perth Catholic Mission are behind the Yendi Project, which has a shortfall of $134,000.
The money is needed to complete three lecture halls and four offices for the first students to begin training.
Fr Norviewu-Mortty, who is chaplain to Joondalup’s Holy Spirit Chapel, ECU Joondalup and Joondalup Health Campus, hopes a fundraising dinner at Hillarys Yacht Club on Friday, November 22, will help raise the additional funds to finish the work.

‘With the help of generous Aussie friends, we have acquired a plot of land and constructed, to roof level, a block of three lecture halls and four offices,’ he said.
‘The facility will recruit Year 12 graduates from rural villages and train them to become teachers, ready and willing to be posted into rural kindergarten, primary and middle schools in Yendi and seven other rural localities in northern Ghana.
‘It also involves a pre-school and primary school program catering directly to the education needs of children from poor families from surrounding villages.
‘This would bring back hope to thousands of rural girls and boys now disenfranchised from education through no fault of their own.’
