The father of Australian cricketers Mike and David Hussey, long-time servant of the game and former Times columnist had been ill with cancer.
He was a WACA Board member and ran a long-standing fitness program at Wanneroo, while acting as club secretary for the past 10 years and sitting on the committee for almost three decades.
‘Ted’s character was such that he will be sadly missed by all within the WA cricket community,’ WACA chief executive Christina Matthews said.
‘On a personal level, Ted was a great help to me when I arrived in WA, providing me with an invaluable insight of the history of district cricket, which assisted enormously in understanding the challenges cricket faced.
‘I’m sure I speak for the WA cricket community as a whole when I say our thoughts and hearts go out to Ted’s family.’
He was 73, and is survived by wife Helen, Mike, David, daughters Gemma and Kate and their families.
