Peet Limited held a vote to help determine what playground equipment would feature in its new park on McIntyre Avenue and asked the 500 entrants to explain their choices.

The Orbit system, with ropes, obstacles and monkey bars, was the most popular of the five designs.

‘When I sent in my entry, I was thinking of my nieces as well as my own kids as we’re looking to start a family in the near future,’ Mrs Wade said.

The new 1.1ha park will include the Orbit system, barbecue facilities and open grass spaces. It is expected to be finished mid-year.

Mrs Wade won two tickets to the local cinema.
