Loana Sica said she wanted help from the community to recover the two unregistered motorcycles and prevent them from being sold to unsuspecting buyers.

Mrs Sica said her 10-year-old daughter’s red 2009 Honda CRF70 and her six-year-old son’s blue 2010 Yamaha TTR50 were taken from their Whelk Place home on October 12.

‘We have only had the bikes for three months and our children are heartbroken as well as traumatised by the thought of someone being on our property while we were home,’ she said.

‘The uninsured bikes were stolen from a locked carport at our Mullaloo home while we slept, sometime between 1.30 and 3.45am.

‘The thieves also attempted to steal our ute and trailer but were unsuccessful.’

Mrs Sica said they believed the motorbikes were transported in a trailer stolen from another Mullaloo property, which was found abandoned in Rowlands Court in Padbury later that morning.

Joondalup Police Senior Sergeant Craig Wanstall said police were investigating, and a witness had seen people offload the bikes from the trailer there, putting the blue one into a blue people mover and riding away on the red one.
