Plenty to cheer about

The club’s top senior teams Force and Rockets ” ranging from ages 10 to 18 ” competed against cheerleaders and dancers from around Australia, New Zealand and Thailand. in the competition on the Gold Coast.

In the senior level one division, Force came second out of eight teams, with Rockets also coming second out of 13 teams in the senior level two division.

The club also put together a group stunt team, Teen Titans, to compete in the senior level one division, taking first place out of four teams.

Gym manager Marija Nugent said the teams trained hard since February to prepare.

‘Having the honour to be judged and critiqued by some of the world’s finest cheerleading judges from the USA and New Zealand was a great privilege,’ she said.

Following the championships, both Force and Rockets participated in a workshop with expert instructors from the US and had the opportunity to perform at Dreamworld.

The teams have another four state competitions and a national event in Perth to round out their cheerleading season, along with the rest of the 10 Fit 2 Cheer competitive teams.
