Police believe armed robberies in Darch and Thornlie linked

POLICE believe two armed robberies in Darch and Thornlie on Sunday night are linked.

Just before 11pm at a licensed premises on Kingsway in Darch, two men approached two employees who were cleaning.

One of the men had what is believed to be a firearm and the other had a knife.

The employees were threatened and a number of rooms were searched, with the men taking two backpacks before leaving the area.

The first man was described as being about 190cm tall and of solid build while the second man was described as 170 to 180cm tall and of medium build.

Both were wearing dark clothes and had their faces covered.

About an hour later, just before midnight at a Murdoch Road tavern in Thornlie, two men approached employees after they left the premises.

One of the men again had what is believed to be a firearm and threatened the employees.

They were forced to unlock the premises and an amount of cash was taken before the men left the area.
