Police investigate serious crash in Nowergup

UPDATE: THE driver in this morning’s crash in Nowergup has died in hospital.

Major Crash officers are investigating the crash that happened about 4.40am when his 2001 white Toyota dual-cab ute left the road and collided with a wooden power pole, snapping the pole.

The man in his 50s was driving south on Wanneroo Road, crashing about 2km north of Neerabup Road.

The man was taken by St John Ambulance to Joondalup Health Campus where he has since passed away.

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash, or has dash cam vision of the vehicle in the area prior to the crash.

EARLIER: POLICE are investigating the cause of a single-vehicle crash in Nowergup this morning that saw a man rushed to hospital.

The man was the sole occupant of the car and his condition is unknown.

Wanneroo Road was closed in both directions between Romeo Road and Nowergup Road.

The man was taken to Joondalup Health Campus after the incident.

Police said his car hit a power pole shortly before 5am.
